 MERBABU MOUNTAIN IS SO BEAUTIFUL
NICE TO BE HERE

Hello everybody, nice to meet you today.
How is everything? Are you okay today? I hope so!

Today we are going to learn about something we did past time, or we can say it as experience, in this case we call it as recount. Do you know it so far?

Well guys, don't worry, we will learn slowly, step by step in order it will be clear. So far based on the experience, we know that this text is a monologue, and it consists of four main parts, first will be about Title, second about Orientation, third about Event and the last is about Re-Orientation.

Okay guys, let's see the text below!

ACTIVITY 3
Read the following text below carefully!

My Trip to Merbabu Mountain
I remember the most memorable holiday I had was when I went hiking at Mt. Merbabu. In the beginning, I was not sure whether I could climb all the way to the top, but my friends encouraged me, so I decided to give it a try.

The journey started on a sand truck from my high school to the first post for hikers located in Boyolali. It was the gathering point for all the climbers, not just students from my school. There, I got to meet new people. Some students were like me, but there were also professional mountain hikers.

At around 8 P.M., it was time to start the hike, so we prayed together for a safe journey and finally set off. We marched in a single column through a rainforest with flashlights for lighting. I brought a good flashlight with me, so I walked behind the leader of our team and lit the way. We kept on going until a little past midnight when we arrived at the second post, also known as the resting point. It was a windy and rainy night, so setting up camp was a little tricky. We worked together and managed to get some rest.

The next morning, it was a race against time, as we wanted to get a clear view of Mt. Merapi from the top of Merbabu before it was covered by the clouds. At dawn, we woke up, prayed Subuh, ate some instant noodles, and started the climb to the top. We walked even though we were a little tired from the march last night. Thankfully, the terrain was not too steep, so we could maintain a pace. It was here where the experienced climbers really stood out. They were not out of breath and could climb while jogging.

One of the most unforgettable moments for me was before reaching the top. We were exhausted and cold; luckily, a nice person gave us a warm drink. With the energy from that nice warm drink, we finally reached the top and got a beautiful view of Merapi Mountain. After that, we took some pictures, and as our adrenaline rush came to a stop, we slept soundly—the important rest we needed before descending the mountain.
