Kelimutu was a beautiful island which is located in Pemo village, Kelimutu District, Ende Regency, Flores, East Nusa Tenggara.

Hi! Let me tell you about our journey to Kelimutu Lakes. So, today we (1) ____ (wake) up early in the morning. Dad and the driver of the car, Mr Divo, had a cup of coffee.

At about 5 in the morning, we (2) ____ (leave) the hotel for Kelimutu. It was still dark and cold outside. Along the winding road we (3) ____ (meet) local people. They were wearing sarong over their head, apparently to fight the cold. At first, I could not see around clearly because it was still foggy. However, gradually, I could see a lot of trees on the sides of the road. Mostly, nutmeg trees. It was the first time for me to see the real nutmeg tree.

When we (4) ____ (arrive) at the slope of Kelimutu, we (5) ____ (see) a lot of people around. They were ready to climb just like us. The trek to go up the Kelimutu was not tough. We saw birds on the tree above us. Some of the birds (6) ____ (sing) beautifully that we (7) ____ (stop) to enjoy it.

When we reached the top, the sun had already risen. Incredible! From the top we could see three lakes with three different colour. They were black, blue, and green. People said that the colour would change continuously. It was a perfect view!

After taking pictures, we (8) ____ (go) down to the parking area and (9) ____ (have) breakfast. While waiting for our meal being cooked we went shopping at the stalls nearby. My mum and I (10) ____ (buy) traditional clothes. Dad bought a bracelet.
