CERTAINTY AND UNCERTAINTY

Asking certainty and uncertainty

Is a kind of a question type to ask for a certainty and uncertainty to someone about something.
Expressing certainty
Is a kind of a clause used to express a certain idea or opinion to others or something. In this case, the speaker really makes sure about the questions and his or her idea.
Expressing uncertainty
Is a kind of a clause used to express a certain idea or opinion to others or something. In this case, the speaker really makes sure about the questions and his or her idea.
Expressing certainty and uncertainty are used to respond questions of asking a certainty or uncertainty.
Asking Certainty
It’s used to perform that someone needs something to be sure or unsure.
Here some expressions of asking certainty!
Are you sure? (Apakah kamu yakin?)
How
are you sure? (Bagaimana kamu bisa yakin?)
Really? (Sungguh?)
Do you think so? (Apa menurutmu begitu?)
Are you exactly convinced about it? (Apakah kamu benar-benar yakin akan hal tersebut?)
Are you really certain about that? (Apakah kamu sungguh yakin dengan itu?)
Do you have any doubt about that? (Apakah kamu memiliki keraguan akan hal tersebut?)
Are you absolutely sure? (Apakah kamu benar-benar yakin?)
Are you certain? (Apakah kamu yakin?)
Are you certain about that? (Apakah kamu yakin tentang itu?)
Is there any doubt about it? (Apakah ada keraguan?)

Expressing Certainty
Here are the expressions to state a certainty
Yes, I’m sure. (Ya, saya yakin.)
I’m really sure about that. (Saya sungguh yakin akan hal itu.)
Yes, I’m certain. (Ya, saya yakin.)
I believe that he can do it well. (Saya percaya bahwa dia dapat melakukannya dengan baik.)
Yes, of course. (Ya, tentu.)
I’m convinced about what you ask. (Saya yakin tentang apa yang kamu tanyakan.)
No, of course not. (Tidak, tentu tidak.)
No, I’m certain. (Tidak, saya yakin.)
No, I’m sure. (Tidak, saya yakin.)
Without doubt. (Tanpa keraguan.)
There is no doubt about that. (Tak ada keraguan tentang hal itu.)
I have no doubt about it. (Saya tidak punya keraguan tentang hal itu.)

 Example of the Dialog Asking and Expressing Certainty
Sarah
               : Hi, do you think you will pass the exam? (Hai, apakah menurutmu kamu akan
                lulus ujian?)
Lisa
                  : Yes, of course. (Ya, tentu.)
Sarah
               : I think it is hard to pass the exam. Why do you think like that?
  (Saya pikir itu sulit untuk lulus ujian. Mengapa kamu berpikir seperti itu?
Lisa                  : Why not? I have prepared everything for the exam.
  (Mengapa tidak. Saya telah mempersiapkan segalanya untuk ujian.)
Clara               : Will Diana come here on time? (Akankah Diana datang ke sini tepat waktu?)

                : Yes, I’m sure. (Ya, saya yakin.)
Clara
               : How are you sure? (Bagaimana kamu yakin.)

                : She is never late before. (Dia tidak pernah terlambat sebelumnya.)
Sandra             : You look so sad. Do you get a problem?

                  : Yes, of course.
Tara                 : Are you sure you will go? (Apakah kamu yakin kamu akan pergi?)

                 : Yes, I’m sure. (Ya, saya yakin.)

                 : Where do you go? (Ke mana kamu akan pergi?)
Dika
                 : I will go to Spain. (Saya akan pergi ke Spanyol.)
Tara
                 : Can you cancel it? (Bisakah kamu membatalkannya?)
Dika
                 : I’m sorry, I can’t. (Maafkan saya, saya tidak bisa?)
Tara
                 : I will miss you. (Saya akan merindukanmu.)
Toni                 : Do you think our team will lose the competition?
Neil
                  : No, I’m sure.

                 : Do you think so?

                  : Because we will do the best.

Expressing Uncertainty

Here are the expressions of uncertainty 

I’m not sure. (Saya tidak yakin.)
I’m not really sure about it. (Saya tidak begitu yakin akan hal itu)
I doubt it. (Saya meragukannya.)
Well, it’s possible. (Yah, itu mungkin.)
Well, I can’t tell you for sure. (Yah, saya tidak dapat menceritakamu untuk kepastiannya.)
I suppose, but I’m not sure. (Saya mengira, tetapi saya tidak yakin.)
I’m not certain. (Saya tidak yakin.)
I don’t believe this is true. (Saya tidak bercaya ini benar.)
It’s difficult for me to be sure that . . .  (Sulit bagi saya untuk yakin bahwa . . . )
I never say that . . . (Saya tidak pernah mengatakan bahwa . . . )

Example of Dialog Expressing Uncertainty

Neil                  : It seems, John is good boy. (Kelihatannya, John adalah anak yang baik.)
Diego
               : I doubt it. (Saya meragukannya.)
Neil
                  : Why? (Mengapa?)
Diego
               : He hit me yesterday. (Dia memukulku kemarin.)
Winda              : Hey, don’t you know that our school will be evicted tomorrow?
                             (Hei, tidakkah kamu tahu bahwa sekolah kita akan digusur besok?)
Santi
                  : I’m not sure. Are you kidding? (Saya tidak yakin. Apa kamu bercanda?)
Winda
               : No, it is serious. (Tidak, ini serius.)
Risa
                   : I don’t believe this is true. (Saya tidak percaya ini benar.)
Winda
               : Well, I only tell what I know. (Yah, saya hanya menceritakan apa yang saya tahu.)
